OWN

Oprah’s new network is sure to start a television revolution. Just as television seemed to be drowning from the pop-up reality shows that tend to lack substance, Oprah steps in to take tv to the next level. I’m not saying that she can single handedly make all the sorry shows better, but she surely can give them a reason to step up their game. The OWN network will consist of reality shows that will touch the lives of many. I’m sure that we all will be able to benefit from one of the many shows on the line up. I’m personally looking forward to Master Class. This is a show that allows the viewers to go into the minds of the brilliant celebrities. Jay-z, Condoleezza Rice, Diane Sawyer and Sidney Poitier will be featured on the show, just to name a few. The network offers shows that cover love, cooking, health, and everything in between. I’m excited for this new addition to television, and more than anything I appreciate Oprah’s effort to make a positive mark on the world. To get channel information go to  http://www.oprah.com/own  and click the channel finder tab, then simply type in your zip code and your tv service provider and the correct channel should appear. The network kicks off January 1 2011, What a way to start the year!

She’s amazing, isn’t she? I read some copies of ‘O’ a few years ago; I wish she’d distribute a UK version.

  2. I am looking forward to OWN too. I may have to fight my boyfriend for the remote though.

I am curious to see how OWN takes shape as well as how it’s received. It’s a groundbreaking move that will change the way networks operate. It may not make a drastic change, but a change regardless.
